Automotive

Your tires are the number one most important automotive part of your car. WHY? The most compelling evidence: They are the only part of your car that touches the ground. Most people have to think about this for a couple of seconds before they realize it is true. Your tires are important for your car’s performance too. Of course, the engine under your car’s hood is also important for performance, but if the car is rolling on bad tires, it won’t matter what’s under the hood. The horsepower will never be dependable, and the car’s braking ability won’t be reliable. Moreover, bad tires are often a leading cause of accidents on the road today.

Continental Tires

No Brand Affiliation

Continental is a huge name in the world of tires. A true Juggernaut! To emphasize, the brand has well over 100 years of experience behind them. As a matter of fact, I personally have years of experience using all kinds of tires, from Goodyear, to Firestone, to Pirelli. None of the tires I have ever used comes close to Continental Tires. I recently put a set of Continental Viking Contact 7 Tires on my car, and you’ll never know they were Winter Tires. You don’t hear them at all while driving, and they help get rid of body roll due to the incredible grip and traction on wet and dry roads.

To summarize, having a new set of tires gives you peace of mind for the next 65,000 + miles (depending on the tire tread-wear rating). At the same time, new tires increase the ability of your vehicle to stop, go, and turn. Continental Tires are a sound bet if your car requires a set of new tires.

6 Things You Can Do To Make Sure Your Tires Are Keeping You Safe
  • Check your tire pressure monthly
  • Inspect tires regularly, especially before long road trips
  • Do not overload your vehicle
  • Don’t wait to replace worn-out tires
  • Don’t install mismatched tires
  • Keep your tires clean and hydrated
Keeping Your Tires Clean and Hydrated

All things considered, the best way to keep your tires clean and hydrated is to use the right tire care products. By and large, I use Automotive Amor All Tire Foam. This stuff is a game-changer when it comes to clean hydrated tires. Consequently, you don’t even need to scrub your tires with soap and water. Armor All Tire Foam will do the heavy lifting for you. All you need to do is spray it on your tires and you’re done. No wiping afterward is needed. This brand comes in “Extreme,” but that has more to do with marketing than anything else. The regular version will do just fine. It sprays a foaming liquid from the aerosol can that penetrates the rubber, pulls out the dirt, and hydrates the tires. Whether by design or by chance, the residue has the best side-effect; It leaves your tires with a shine that will last until the next rainy day.

Automotive Car Wash

The importance of keeping a clean car

To begin with, I’ve been using Zipwax Car Wash and Wax from the Turtle Wax Brand for years. In the past, I took my 2006 Sonata to those automatic car washes where machines washed the car. Over time, my car lost its factory shine, developed hard water stains and swirl marks on the hood, and everywhere else. Someone told me about Turtle Wax Automotive Car “Wash &Wax” and “Wax & Dry.”  I’ve been a fan ever since. Unlike other car owners, I don’t use a separate cleaning solution to clean the wheels. My advice is to use Turtle Wax Zipwax and wash on the wheels as you would on the rest of the car (not on the tires).

The Pickle Bucket System

First, get a large pickle bucket and filled it with hot water. Next, use Terry Cloth Towels because these hold lots of water. After that, soak the towel in the hot water, take it out, pour a shot glass size amount of car wash on the rag. Step Four, rub both halves of the rag together to work the soap suds into a rich lather. After that, wash the car using round motions.

The Automotive Rinse Method

After washing the car, I empty the bucket of dirty water and refill it with clean warm water. There’s really no need for a high-pressure rinse. I do a complete hand wash and hand rinse. I take a large sponge and place it in the bucket until it is completely soaked. Then without delay, I slowly wipe the car down letting the water from the sponge rinse all the suds off.

When I’m done, I use a clean wet Terry Cloth Rag to wipe the soap residue off the wheels. Without delay, I use the Turtle Wax & Dry to spray the car. I even spray the wet windows. Next, I take a dry Microfiber Cloth and wipe the entire car down. After about 2 hours, you may notice a haze all over the car.

F24S SonataTake a dry Microfiber Cloth and wipe the car all over using fast back and forth motions. This is the shine phase, and this is where the magic happens. In due time, after a few months of washing the car twice a week this way, the swirl marks on my car disappeared, and the showroom shine returned. It almost looks as if the car was repainted. Finally, unless your car’s paint surface has small minor damage from road debris, small scratches from other cars that bumped into your car while parked on the street or in a shopping mall parking lot, you won’t need to repaint the car. Turtle Wax Car Wash Products helps keep your car looking new.
